PDE-200 · Intermediate to Advanced

Planned

SolidWorks for Product Design & Engineering

Manufacturable furniture products from concept to production pack. Hardware integration, DFM analysis, hybrid materials (wood + metal + plastic), prototyping, fastener libraries, motion studies, and supplier-ready documentation.

About This Course

This course takes manufacturable furniture products all the way from concept to a complete production pack. You learn to integrate hardware properly and to run design-for-manufacture (DFM) analysis so that products are buildable, not just renderable.

You work with hybrid materials — combining wood, metal, and plastic — and build prototypes and fastener libraries that speed up every subsequent project. Motion studies let you validate moving parts and mechanisms before anything is cut.

The course finishes with supplier-ready documentation — the drawings, BOMs, and data a manufacturer needs to put your product into production.
