SolidWorks for Soft Furniture Design

Sofas, chairs, beds, and upholstered furniture. Ergonomic modelling, foam structures, internal frames, fabric reference geometry, weldment frames, and manufacturing drawings for upholstery workshops. A highly specialised and underserved niche.

About This Course

This course focuses on soft furniture — sofas, chairs, beds, and upholstered pieces. It teaches ergonomic modelling alongside the foam structures and internal frames that give upholstered furniture its shape and support.

You learn to work with fabric reference geometry and to build weldment frames for the metal and timber structures inside soft furniture, then to produce manufacturing drawings tailored to how upholstery workshops actually build.

Soft furniture is a highly specialised and underserved niche — this course gives designers and workshops a dedicated, production-focused CAD workflow for it.
